Gap along my gums after root canal?

Had a root canal today, and the crown done today as well. The front of my teeth my gums are clearly inflamed and puffy and covering down around the "tooth" a bit. In the back though it is receded way up to the point where I have a gap..a very large one. Is this normal and my gum line will come back down to cover this up or should I call the dentist tomorrow morning.
