If I brush and rinse daily can I save my gums?

For a while now my bottom gumline has been receding and I've been trying to save them. My bottom is really low no matter how many times I brush it still seems like it's receding. I'm just 18 and I'm going crazy just thinking about my gums. What can I do to preserve my gums
