My silkie is sitting one of my other hens egg. Is best to rmove it?.?

White silkie has gone broody and is sitting in the nesting box all day but my other hen has laid today and I'm sure she's switched nesting boxes to sit on her egg. Is it best to remove the egg and how long will she be broody for?. Is it true that they don't lay eggs while they are broody?.
