It's your's and your partner's choice to have a baby- nobody else's. Your eldest child will be 15 months at the time of your next child's birth if you fall pregnant now, and some experts think that an age gap of less than 2 years means the eldest child won't have enough comprehension of the situation to feel jealous, which is a bonus. Do however be aware that your toddler may go through a very needy stage and if you have a newborn on your hands this could be challenging. Also, if they were in the same year at school they'd soon get fed up of being asked if they were twins! Finally, no contraceptive actually makes you put on weight, they just make you hungrier.
